Why I love PR:
I love the immediacy of working with news media in all its forms, having grown up in a household where going to a TV station was normal, I have always been surrounded by the excitement and immediacy of broadcast media. It's exciting that I can think of an idea, pitch it to the right person, see it get picked up and then watch the effects of the dissemination of that message. I love the power of PR to inform, to advise and to inspire.

Career Highlights:
Among my highlights in my career in public affairs would have to be working with Emirates on the launch of their direct air service between Perth and Dubai. I travelled with the then Premier, Dr Geoff Gallop, and the largest trade delegation ever to leave Western Australia. We had a frantic week of meetings, promotional activities, culminating in a gala dinner with the who's who of the Australian business community in the UAE. I was looking after everything from booking cars and changing hotel rooms to running a promotional stand at a trade show, and meeting with the Ruler of Sharjah. We presented Western Australia as a beautiful, dynamic and innovative place, and got great media coverage both locally and at home. What a buzz!
