Lead by renowned conductor Ms Yanna Talpis, witness the birth of the Gold Coast Symphony Orchestra next month at the Gold Coast Arts Centre in time to celebrate Christmas.

With nationally and internationally acclaimed players and soloists, the orchestra will be performing Queensland's Premiere of Sviridov's "Snow-Storm", highlights from Bach's Xmas Oratorio, Berlioz's L'enfance du Christ (including divine Harp Trio) together with Christmas Carols for the whole family and much more on Friday 21 December.

Featuring in this memorable event are the American-trained Principal Cellist Elias Suarez, the Spanish Bassoonist Oscar Garrido de la Rosa, German trained oboist Bettina Crimmins, the French Australian Harpist Sebastien Lipman and the local talented team of musicians.

Yanna Talpis, the Russian-born Conductor and Musical Director of the Gold Coast Symphony Orchestra has performed throughout Australia and internationally and is in the process of moving to the Gold Coast to take up her post with the newly formed orchestra.

Also performing solo pieces and leading the audience participation are local singers with international experience, Ruth Gurner, Liza Beamish and John Peek.

The next concert "Love & Passion" is to celebrate Valentines Day and is on 16 February 2008.
